What Is It?

The Walter Sisulu National Botanical Gardens is bringing you a Christmas in July spectacular unlike any other in the city. Join them for an Enchanted Garden of Lights festival to celebrate Christmas in July. Have you ever dreamed of waking up to lightly falling snow on Christmas morn, or Christmas dinner around a perfect fire? Unfortunately, the closest we Joburgers get to snow on Christmas is the trickle of rain that precedes a glorious day of sunshine. To experience Christmas as we wish it could be, take a stroll through the 500m botanical garden trail which will be lit up with thousands of lights. There will also be Christmas statues, an enchanted forest of magnificent lights, artificial snow flakes, music and family fun activities for everyone to enjoy. Bring the kids along to take pictures with Father Christmas or go on a Christmas Chariot Ride through the snow. So, take advantage of the chilly weather and get yourself into the festive spirit for this once off event.

Thursday, 25 July - Sunday, 4 August 2019 from 18:00 - 22:00 daily.
