When it comes to Joburg weddings, this was one for the books. The former YoTV presenter tied the knot with Miss South Africa 2015 in July last year. Their romance has played out on social media and had the whole country rooting for them from the start. The couple had a white wedding as well as a traditional one that celebrated Liesl being welcomed to the Mthombeni family. Pictures of Liesl in traditional wear were a subject of most reposts on social media platforms. They were more low key with the picture roll-out of the white wedding - posting them a month after the actual ceremony. It looked like a very intimate affair with close friends and family. The bride looked exquisite in a one-armed number sourced by the Wedding Boutique, while the groom was quite dapper in the traditional black and white tux.

There are few things cuter than a pregnant bride in our books and musician and comedian Davina Goliath made a stunning one. The violinist married the comedian in the most chill way. She donned a beautiful vintage satin dress and paired it with a funky pair of white Comme de Garcons x Converse sneakers. The groom also wore a similar pair in black. She veered from tradition with an understated hat in place of a veil. The pair noticeably did not have a bridal party. To turn up the cuteness levels another notch,  they got married on their fifth anniversary together. We love their wedding pictures, which are so distinctly Joburg. Taken by Luke Bennet (@lukeswork), they feature our tree-lined suburban streets and our favourite, the red BMW or gusheshe, which is a piece of Joburg's cultural fabric.

Mogane won SA Idols in 2015 and won his longtime love’s heart forever in May 2021. Yes, love makes us gooey and cheesy. And we couldn’t get enough of their union, shared on Instagram. The pair got married at Oakfield Farm back in September. They were the picture of class and elegance at their white wedding. The bride wore a beautiful low cut dress with hints of modesty with the long sleeves. She was accompanied by some of her best friends who looked chic in elegant white bridesmaid dresses. She thanked them on an Instagram post that read: “If I had to do it again, I’d still do it with ya’ll. Thank you for the sisterhood and your consistency ❤️ I love you guys so much. Till the wheels fall off”

The fitness influencer married her longtime love Gilan Gork at the Inimitable Wedding Venue in the Cradle of Humankind on 11 November 2021. Angelique wore an exquisite high necked gown fit for a princess. She later changed to a slinky number for the reception. Her bridal party, which included her influencer sister @TwinMama_Hustle, also looked fabulous standing beside her. Please note the fashion-forward flower girl dresses. Angelique documented her wedding journey on her YouTube channel, from the rehearsal to the reception, if you're keen to see all the details! Written by Sthembile Gasa. Loved these Joburg weddings?
