Local Cast, Global Impact
CATS features a local cast performing Andrew Lloyd Webber’s iconic score, including the unforgettable ballad “Memory". Hearing this one live truly is something else. The choreography, meticulously crafted costumes, and immersive set make CATS an immersive show that'll leave the whole family spellbound.
Based on Old Possum’s Book of Practical Cats by T.S. Eliot, CATS first premiered in London’s West End in 1981. 9,000 performances, 54 countries, 23 languages, and 77 million audience members later, this show has broken records and redefined musical theatre.

A Timeless Marvel
Its enduring appeal lies in the magical fusion of music, poetry, dance, and storytelling. CATS invites audiences into the mysterious world of the Jellicle Cats, who gather for their annual Jellicle Ball to decide which one among them will ascend to the Heaviside Layer and be reborn.
Associate Director and Choreographer Chrissie Cartwright and Musical Supervisor Peter McCarthy honour the creative vision and distinctive style of the show’s original team.
Audiences can look forward to an exceptional South African cast, including Cindy-Ann Abrahams as Grizabella, King B as Old Deuteronomy, Dylan Janse van Rensburg as Rum Tum Tugger, and Che-jean Jupp as Munkustrap.

Now At The Teatro
This upcoming South African season aims to captivate a new generation of theatre lovers while reigniting the nostalgia of devoted fans. The production remains one of the most exciting and emotionally rich musicals ever written. It's a timeless spectacle that you can watch over and over again.
CATS will be at the Teatro at Montecasino from 17 January to 22 February. Click here to get your tickets! Strictly no under 3's. Wheelchair seating is available and must be booked with the producers at Pieter Toerien Productions (011 511 1988).Website: https://pietertoerien.co.za/
