What Is It?
The Joburg leg of the 5km Color Run is back this September! Pioneered in 2011, The Color Run has seen about 6 million runners worldwide participate, from over 35 different countries. As the only official 5km color event in Joburg, The Color Run 2019 looks to be even bigger and better than before. Hosted near Emmerentia Dam, this event is a spring-time must for runners of all abilities. So, grab your running shoes, tutus and rainbow attire, because Joburg is about to get a whole lot more colourful.
The Color Run 2019 is not only about having a good time. Previous events raised R500 000 for local causes and educational based initiatives. This year, the organisers are calling for all runners to help raise funds for some amazing charities. Find out more about these initiatives here.

**All Color Runners get ready in the start chute at 09:45. The start gun will go off at 10:00 to start the race. Each batch starts three minutes apart, and you’ll head off in each batch with approximately 500 new friends. It takes 1-2 hours to run or walk the route.
