After taking a hard knock, the world of live entertainment is finding its feet again, and it will be standing tall at the 17tth Annual Bassline Fest.
Headlining this year's instalment of the live music festival are African music giants, Thandiswa "King Tha" Mazwai, Zambian-born-Australian-based rapper, singer and songwriter, Sampa The Great, as well as legendary South African rapper, Stogie T, who is set to perform with an all-star jazz quartet.
The show will be held at the iconic Constitutional Hill Human Rights Precinct in Braamfontein on Saturday 27 November, and will once again be curated by Bassline Live, one of the country’s major concert production houses known for their pan-African approach to music curation, and for hosting some of Africa's finest music icons for over 27 years.
This year's festival comes as a celebration of life and healing, and, as the title suggests, being here to see a new day following a period characterised by global grief and turmoil brought on by the Covid-19 pandemic.
Dedicated to nurturing cross-border collaboration, the line-up also boasts a crop of new-age experimental folk musicians including Morena Leraba of Lesotho, Moonga K from Botswana and SA’s own Laliboi and Ikati Esengxoweni.
