Having opened its doors last year, Linden Lanes in the heart of charming and leafy Linden is our new convenient and upmarket shopping experience. We spent a day here and thought we'd share our experience with you, so you'll know what you can get up to and explore during your visit to this trendy centre.
The arty suburb of Linden is famous for its quirky art shops, coffee and cheese emporiums, and a general atmosphere of tranquility. Now, there’s one more reason to visit this leafy village to get a break from the rush of frantic city life. Linden Lanes opened its doors in July 2022, offering visitors an upmarket setting for high-street daily convenience and shopping experience.
This lovely redevelopment is anchored by Pick 'n Pay, and offers a selection of restaurants and speciality shops, where you’ll find whatever you’re looking for. From stocking up on fresh produce and enjoying a well-deserved pamper session to coffee dates with friends and delicious family dining, Linden Lanes look forward to making your next retail experience a safe and enjoyable one.
First Stop, Coffee!
Before we start our adventure through Linden Lanes, we needed some caffeine! So, we stopped by Vida E Caffe to get some much-needed energy in the form of a hot cuppa Joe. Nothing like a Cappuccino first thing in the morning.
Another thing we'll keep in mind when load shedding hits, Vida E Caffe Linden Lanes is the perfect remote working spot. Java, new scenery, and delicious treats. What more could you need during load shedding?
Next, A Pamper Session
After a stressful week of deadlines, meetings, and crazy load shedding schedules, we thought we should treat ourselves to a pamper session to help us relax and unwind. We made a stop at Kreme Beauty Lounge. On Tuesdays and Wednesday, they have a Nails Gel Combo Special (hands and toes) at R300* that we couldn't miss.
Now that we were all pedi-ready for Spring, we decided to go enjoy a little bit of retail shopping throughout the centre. This gave us the perfect opportunity to see what stores can be found in the centre. But first – we need to find a place to have something to eat!
Lunchtime Delights
We were spoilt for choice when it came to what to order for lunch. We could stop by Pizza Baby! for some hearty and moreish pizzas with every topping imaginable. Or we could opt for Njam Eatery for some healthy yet delicious salads, tasty burgers or sosaties. But, we decided to indulge a little at Hao Ke Lai.
Sushi and bubble tea for lunch – we were in heaven! We have to admit, that here we found some of the best Salmon Fashion Sandwiches and Salmon Roses in Joburg. We'll definitely be back!
Run A Few Errands
Next on our game plan at Linden Lanes is to tick off a few errands while we were there. It was convenient and gave us the opportunity to do what we needed to do in one spot. We headed to Dis-Chem to get our monthly prescriptions and some makeup goodies that we wanted to add to our daily makeup routine. Then we head to the Pick 'n Pay that anchors the centre to grab groceries for the week.
With the errands done and dusted, we could explore the rest of the centre and indulge in some retail therapy and window shopping!
Retail Therapy!
Perfect for accessories for Spring, we popped into Jade Moon Boutique, who sells stylish and comfortable basic apparel and accessories to women. They have a lovely selection of flowy dresses perfect for the new season, as well as handbags, sunglasses and jewellery to complete the ensemble.
We also shopped at Animal Junxion to get our furbaby at home a treat or two so he doesn't feel left out. There's a wide range of accessories, pet beds, pet foods and more. This is a one-stop spot for all of your pet needs.
Treats On-The-Go!
Before we called it a day and left Linden Lanes, we decided to grab a couple tasty treats on the way out. One of our new favourite go-to spots is the Naughty Corner at Njam Eatery. Here, we ordered a some indulgent brownies and moreish truffles, as well as cheesecake!
And how could we leave without stopping at Famous Kalahari Biltong for a couple kilos of biltong and droewors! Here, you'll not only get your hands on some of the best and varied range of biltong, but you'll enjoy their customer-friendly environment and enthusiasm for service.
