What Is It?
The sixth edition of the Word N Sound International Youth Poetry Festival celebrates, as the name suggests, all things poetry and sound related. This year the festival brings together some of the most vocal and potent minds of our time in an event that looks set to be a true meeting of ‘dangerous minds’.
The festival features the international exploits of Alysia Harris (US), Ngwatilo Mawiyoo (Ken) and Elten Kiene (NL); beside a cast of local word magicians: Siphokazi Jonas, Mutle Mothibe, Vuyelwa Maluleke, Pieter Odendaal, Modise Sekgothe, Xabiso Vili, Zewande BK Bhengu, Pakama Mlokoti and Mandi Vundla. Bring your friends and family along for a week of non-stop poetry and beautiful music.
