27 Boxes is undoubtedly one of Joburg's most innovative retail and restaurant precincts. Fashioned from recycled shipping containers, this ultimate shopping destination houses fashion boutiques galore. Visitors can also enjoy the outdoor children's park, an open air amphitheatre and the rooftop nursery. At just a short distance from the ever bustling 7th Street, 27 Boxes is usually a hive of activity over weekends.
Of course, over the past few months activity at the precinct has been halted due to COVID-19 restrictions. However since the implementation of level 4 lockdown, 27 Boxes has been up and running, welcoming in visitors with a number of health and safety regulations in place. Now the precinct will be hosting its first weekend market in months.

Stores Open at 27 Boxes
Majority of stores at 27 Boxes have reopened in level 3 lockdown. Whether you're on the lookout for winter warmers, new fashion staples or a custom jewellery piece, you're sure to find what you are after here. Fashion boutiques Wishes Boutique, Ara Emporium, Krag Drag and Loulou Regal Style are also selling funky face masks to keep you looking stylish while staying safe. Stop by to get your hands on an assortment of cool print masks and other must-haves to keep you warm this winter. Alternatively, you can shop online with Lee Bex, Dainty Frocks and Loulou Regal Style.
Restaurants & Food Stores
27 Boxes is home to some of our favourite bakeries and foodie hangouts in Jozi. Stop by on a Sunday morning to indulge in decadent coffee and cronuts from X&O Patisserie. Or come and get your weekly fill of freshly baked bread from Baker Brothers. Flavourz of India and Infernoz Chilli are open to supply all your spice needs and kitchen essentials. The Green Market
It's been quite a while since we've been to a local market. If you've been sincerely missing the market vibe and are just itching to get out of the house, check out the
Green Market Melville at 27 Boxes. This market is dedicated to a fervent love of all things 'green', including CBD oil, hemp products and much more. As Joburg's first cannabis market, it sets the standard for responsible and quality trading of these types of products. The market will be hosted at 27 Boxes every Saturday in July. A limited number of traders will be set up around the precinct to allow for social distancing. So put on your face masks, pack up your hand sanitiser and let's head out to the best 'green' market in the city.

Saturday, 4 July 2020 from 10:00 - 15:00. Subsequent markets will be held on the 11th, 18th and 25th of July respectively.
