What Is It?
Womandla proudly present ‘Hamba Kahle Mkhonto’ at the WITS Main Theatre this September. Based on Norman Duka’s book, From Shantytown to Forest the play is a must-see, particularly in light of the scourge of gender-based violence we have faced in recent weeks.
‘Hamba Kahle Mkhonto’ is also inspired by the testimonies of young ANC cadres at a People’s Theatre workshop at Mazimbu, Tanzania; as well as the play, Mandela: the Spirit of No Surrender, devised and performed by the Zimbabwean Frontline theatre group.
Directed by Robert Kavanagh, with assistance from Alexander Dale. Don’t miss it!
