Chef Reuben Riffel began his culinary career in Franschoek at the Monneaux restaurant, which he helped establish as one of top 10 restaurants in South Africa. His long list of achievements and awards include, Chef of the Year and Restaurant of the Year in the Eat Out awards. Reuben’s Restaurant in Franschhoek was also ranked as one of South Africa’s Top 10 restaurants for three consecutive years. In addition, Chef Reuben has published three bestselling cookbooks, as well as featuring as a judge on MasterChef South Africa and other local reality TV food shows.

Special Winter Menu – 23 May to 31 August 2019
Reuben’s Restaurant and Bar will be introducing a special winter from 23 May 2019. They have expertly curated a menu tailored to highlight seasonal ingredients to welcome in the colder months. This menu not only offers you warming winter flavours, but also a new take on old classics. Here’s what the new menu features:
Starters: Tempura linefish with wasabi mayo, sushi rice and avo and lemon dressing OR 3 prawn tempura
Main: Confit duck leg, sweet potato puree, roasted carrots, broccoli with spiced citrus Gastrique OR crisp pork belly with black pepper caramel and pommes puree.
Dessert: Croissant Pain Perdu with caramalised apple and honeycomb ice cream OR roast apple and pecan nut financier with vanilla ice cream.
You get all of this for only *R250 per person! The winter menu will be available only until 31 August 2019, so be sure to book as soon as possible. Spring will be rolling around sooner than you think. Luckily, Reuben’s will be there to welcome in the new season with their delicious contemporary adaptations of classic delights.
