I definitely have a glass of wine in my hand writing this article, you better have yours in your hand too if you are reading this, or even better we are hooking you up with events where any wine lover can go enjoy a glass of wine in a setting that will tickle your fancy. Here’s what we have for you!

Symphony Orchestra In The Gardens At Leriba Hotel

Date: Sunday, 02 June 2019 at 14:30 – 16:00.

The Capital Chamber Orchestra, conducted by Schalk van der Merwe, will be performing well-loved light classical favourites at the Leriba Hotel. The best part is that there will be a free wine tasting at this symphonic event, and if you like what you’re drinking you get to buy it at cellar prices. Wine Art Food Festival 

Date: Saturday, 04 May 2019 at 10:00.

This year sees the third annual Wine Art Food Festival, an exciting lifestyle event that seeks to fuse South Africa’s best wine, arts and cuisine in a spectacular environment to make for one glorious day in the sun. The entire festival aims to celebrate the country’s rich heritage and culture by bringing people of various backgrounds together to indulge in the finer things in life. You can expect wine tastings from different wine farms, 3D art illustrations and live art paintings, art classes and exhibitions, as well as access to the Freedom Park museum tours.

Veritas Tasting Johannesburg

Date: Tuesday, 29 October 2019.

Want to get the opportunity to sip and enjoy some of the best award-winning wines in the country? Diarise the 29th of October. The 2019 Veritas Awards have just recently held their judging and will be allowing wine lovers the chance to do a wine tasting. Tickets will be available at Computicket (tickets will be available on the 1st of October).

RMB WineX 2019

Date: Wednesday, 30 October 2019 – Friday, 01 November 2019.

The ever popular RMB WineX is back later this month with yet another exciting instalment at the Sandton Convention Centre. When it comes to selection, you’ll be spoilt for choice with 800 wines to choose from – mostly local – as well as a variety of fine brandy, Cape Ports, international wines and champagnes too. And if you’d like to grab a bite to eat in-between shopping and sampling, there will also be delicious deli meals from Mastrantonio available. You can get your tickets at the door or online.

Pick ‘n Pay Winemakers Table

Date: Thursday, 25 October 2018.

Join Pick ‘n Pay Winemakers Table for a delectable four-course menu and wine pairing. It’s the ideal evening out if you need a date-night idea for that special someone who happens to love wine. Cost is R450 per person and you’ll enjoy a perfectly paired menu prepared especially for you. For the first in the Pick n Pay’s Winemakers Table series, join Durbanvillle Hills Winery in partnership with the Pick n Pay Wine Club and The Good Food Studio for an evening with the winemaker of Durbanville Hills. Taking place at PnP Good Food Studio in Sandton.

Fijnwyn Food & Wine Festival

Date: Tuesday, 30 April 2019 – Wednesday, 01 May 2019.

The other dates are as follows:

  • Saturday, 15 June 2019 – Sunday, 16 June 2019.
  • Saturday, 21 September 2019 – Sunday, 22 September 2019.

This is definitely a favourite in the city, where we get to take a short trip to PTA for the Fijnwyn Food and Wine Festival. The idea of the festival is to bring the Cape to Gauteng without really leaving our province. It is a unique event situated in a tranquil farm setting amid pecan nut and almond plantations situated only 12km from Woodlands Boulevard. Bring the whole family along as well because this event is fit for every family member. Expect to indulge in amazing wine, food and good music. The event continues throughout the year, so you have to make sure you catch at least one of these.

Date: Tuesday, 04 June 2019 – Wednesday, 05 June 2019.

This is one of the longest running and most prestigious wine festivals in Mzansi.
