Ludwig’s Roses Pretoria
Over the past four decades, Ludwig’s has grown into a blossoming business! The mother nursery situated just north of Pretoria was opened in 1996. If you have the time (and petrol budget), visit the farm to marvel at an ocean of colour and fragrance. It is a sensory experience you’ll not likely forget. From a mere 180 varieties to a catalogue that contains over 1 000 varieties in a myriad of colours and fragrances, those with green are for a treat! After walking through the rows of roses, enjoy a slice of cake and cup of coffee at their on-site restaurant, The Rose Kitchen. View their latest menu here.
The floral nursery has had an online store since 2019, where clients can shop from the comfort of their homes. You can order and purchase beautiful blooms here.
The Pretoria garden centre is open from Monday to Sunday between 08:00 – 17:00.
Ludwig’s Egoli
If you prefer to stay within Joburg borders, visit Ludwig’s Egoli in Glenferness. Established in 2004, this satellite nursey is not as big as its Pretoria cousin, but is still equally as impressive. The nursery stocks all thousand of Ludwig’s rose varieties, offering you the ultimate convenience and freedom of choice. The staff here are always on hand to assist as well, regardless of whether you are a novice gardener or green thumbed magician. They’ll be able to assist with specialist advice, landscaping ideas, and rose recommendations. All you need to do is give a wave and you’ll be met with a friendly smile and helping hand in no time.
Ludwig’s Egoli also stocks a myriad of gardening accessories and boutique products. Stock up on all you need to transform your garden into a perfumed paradise. Keep the rose theme ongoing inside your home with their range of rose scented body products, diffusers, and edible jams. It’s all about roses at Ludwig’s, so make sure to come well prepared to blow your budget. It will be well worth it though, when you look out into your garden and smile with overwhelming delight.
The Egoli garden centre is open from Monday to Sunday between 09:00 – 17:00.
Annual Events
Each year, the Pretoria rose farm plays host to a number of events. One such event is the indoor Easter Market, where The Rose Shed is filled with various stalls and flower displays ready for purchase. The highlight of this event is definitely the tractor rides through the farm, that families can make use during the event. Another highlight is their Christmas Market and Garden Day events! For those who would like to learn more about the art of gardening, the rose farm also hosts monthly Summer Rose Care Workshops during the warmer months. Be sure to keep an eye on their Facebook page for event notifications. And this Mother’s Day, they have something special planned!
