Looking for a different way to end off your year?

Trends show that more and more South Africans consider themselves “foodies” and “cooking enthusiasts” and embrace cooking as a leisure pursuit. If this is you, uShef is the place to head for. uShef focuses on the entertainment side of cooking, whilst teaching everybody a tip or two.

Teambuilding cooking is a fun way of getting to know your staff while you all prepare a meal from scratch. This is where teamwork really counts and the promise of a great meal at the end of it is a much greater motivation than great heights and water!

People arrive from 11h30 or 18h30 and have a welcome drink. At 19h00 or 12h00 you go into the kitchen, everybody cooks in pairs, your names are placed on your chef’s hats. Gill give an explanation of everything and some tips and myself and my chef go round and assist everybody. Cooking time is one and a half to two hours and every pair makes different recipes. There are a variety of themes for example; Thai, Moroccan, Indian, Italian, French, Mexican, Mediterranean, Christmas and uShef Cook Off.

Some teams make starters which are eaten while cooking and then once everybody is finished the food is placed out on a table and everybody sits down to sample what they have made. Closing time is 15h30 or 22h30. Before you go, ou will receive a “party pack” with a CD of all the recipes made and a small gift. The C.D cover is branded with your company logo.

The cost is R315.00 per person including a welcome drink, wine, beer and cold drinks. The minimum charge is for 12 people and the ideal number is 16 however we can go up to 20.

The emphasis is on fun whilst learning a couple of new things and a glass of “something” on the side is encouraged.

Christmas Gifts: Looking for the gift for some who has everything? Buy them a gift voucher for one of our fun cooking evenings. It costs R240.00 per voucher and comes packaged with some spices and a spatula.
