The Twitter Blanket Drive is a fantastic initiative which sees people gathering annually to meet and donate blankets to the less fortunate and not just any people but Twitter users.
Last weekend (Saturday, 29th of May) was the official meet-up which saw Joburg, Cape Town, Pretoria, Port Elizabeth, Durban, Knysna and Overberg Tweeple meeting up for some coffee and a donation which in turn gets distributed as part of the respective media partner’s initiative. Kids Haven, Round Table, Rotary, Animal Welfare, P.E.N. and PASSOP are just some of the charities chosen to benefit this year. Over 100 people joined up nationwide to support the TBD this year with over 500 blankets being collected so far, not to mention a few appreciated cash donations.
If you’re keen to help out but didn’t hear about the TBD in time this year, then never fear because you can still hook up at this TBD drop off point and make that donation. Drop off point details are listed below.
