Standard Bank Joy Of Jazz

Joburgers biggest annual jazz festival, that features a range of musical styles but with a strong emphasis on jazz, is the ideal family outing. The festival has been host to over 200 local and international artists performing at different venues across the city, particularly in Newtown. Standard Bank Joy Of Jazz has seen jazz artists from Japan, Norway, Germany, Holland, Spain and Nigeria, all gracing our stages on a mission to provide sizzling entertainment.

Arts Alive

Arts Alive is an international musical festival is held every September at venues across Joburg’s inner city. The main concert, held at the Johannesburg Stadium, usually features more than 16 international artists and 20 South African performers who take Joburgers on a journey through the city by mixing dance, visual art, poetry and music.

When: Throughout September

Back To The City

Back To The City is known as the biggest hip-hop event in Africa, with three stages, one surprise international act, 40 local MCs, 12 DJs, 12 Graffiti Crews, a beer garden, a gaming zone and much, much more! There is also an educational component at the event where industry pioneers mentor and share experiences with other artists and industry role players – what better way to celebrate Freedom Day?

Vodacom In The City

Vodacom In The City brings Joburgers an epic music experience which features an exciting international line-up annually! The festival is held at the iconic Emmarentia Dam and fans of all ages are invited, making this a perfect family day out! This is a festival that embraces our beautiful city and shows appreciation for our local music.

Soweto Wine Festival

Now in it’s 12th year, the Soweto Wine Festival returns again, bringing to us an unforgettable wine experience with over 950 wine styles. This festival reinvents the wine and food experience in the heart of Soweto and calls on all who would like to learn and to explore a world-class cuisine. This is also a great chance to tour the famous township if you haven’t already.

When: 2-4 September

DStv Delicious International Food & Music Festival

The DStv Delicious International Food & Music Festival made its début in October 2013 and has taken the entertainment and culinary world by storm. It’s known as one of the biggest festivals that offers everything from mouth-watering gourmet food, to street-chefs and delectable trends, as well as a music line-up of world-class entertainment and local acts.
