Since 1995 The Grillhouse has been kicking ass and taking names. In the past two decades the eatery has won numerous awards including Leisure Options’ Best Independent Steakhouse – for the last five years – and a Rossouw’s Restaurants rating of three stars, which is one of the highest accolades awarded. And most recently they were surprised by an article in Conde Naste Traveller by a review who claimed that the restaurant serves the best steak from here to Cairo to Cape Town.
While The Grillhouse is famous for its steaks and ribs, the menu caters for everyone, with a range of salads, chicken, seafood and vegetarian dishes. For those of you with a sweet tooth, check out the venue’s legendary brownies and ice cream – people have travelled the country to sink their teeth into that delicacy.
With The Grillhouse’s art deco furnishings and subtle lighting, reminiscent of the classic New York grillhouse, the dĂ©cor cleverly combines raw face brick, black leather seating and fine timber to create a warm earthy feel. There are also private dining rooms, and a wine cellar for you to choose from a huge selection.
Whether you stay in the area or on the other side of town you need to make a plan to check it out. This reviewer is sold. Friendly stafff, brilliant service and tasty cigars for sale. What’s not to like?
