What is it?

You and your family can enjoy running or walking at your own pace in a peaceful green setting – while passing some of the most popular zoo animals, including the lions, elephants, giraffe, monkeys and rhinos. What happend?

Visit the Joburg Zoo at night and witness the big cats, caracal, striped hyena, honey badgers, porcupines, Eusasian Eagle Owls, and other nocturnal animals come to life under the light of the moon. As a visitor, I enjoyed a 90-minute night-time ferry ride around the zoo with stops at a number of enclosures. I also packed a dinner picnic basket to enjoy along the night adventure alongside a bonfire.

What Is It?

Is being active one of your New Years resolutions? If yes, then lace up your running shoes and head to the Johannesburg Zoo for their Zoo Trot, a peaceful yet fun 5 or 10km run or walk that'll take your through the zoo grounds. This was the perfect way to get out and about and active, while spending some quality time with your loved ones.
