What Is It?

The ever-popular Disney On Ice returns to the Ticketpro Dome this June! Presented by Showtime Management, Disney On Ice has become an annual family-favourite. This year, all your most loved Disney characters return to the ice, including Mickey and Minnie Mouse, Donald Duck and Goofy.

Go on a whirlwind adventure through the ages of Disney - from Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs, to Ariel and Frozen's Anna and Elsa. In 2020, Disney On Ice also introduces a special new character to the ice-capades - Moana, the Tahitian princess! Watch in awe as she displays the courage to save her island on a high-seas adventure alongside the greatest demigod that ever lived, Maui.

But, that's not all! For the first time in South Africa, Disney On Ice will feature the characters and stories from Pixar studios. The 2020 ice spectacular features Woody, Buzz and their round-up gang. Watch in awe as they fight bravely against a number of obstacles. Next, go on a roller coaster of emotions with Joy, Sadness, Anger, Fear and Disgust from Pixar's Inside Out.

Little princesses will also be delighted to see their favourite icons live on the ice. Let them sing and dance alongside the Disney princesses, including Cinderella, Rapunzel, Jasmine, Belle, Tiana, Mulan, Merida and more, as you create special Disney memories with this celebration of Mickey's friends.

Disney On Ice is a firm family staple, bringing an element of joy and wonderment to the Ticketpro Dome each year. Beat the winter blues this June by bringing the whole family along to revel in the magic that is Disney!

Disney On Ice Returns!

Grab your Mickey Mouse ears and get ready! In June 2020, Disney On Ice celebrates Mickey and Friends skates into South Africa for the first time. This production will inspire families to relive their favorite Disney memories and make new ones they will treasure forever.

Disney On Ice celebrates Mickey and Friends opens at the Ticketpro Dome, the GrandWest and Sun Arena at Time Square next June through to July. And they're also delighted to announce that Moana and Inside Out will be joining in Disney On Ice for the first time in South Africa and the welcomed return of Toy Story.

Minnie Mouse, Donald Duck and Goofy join Mickey Mouse in a high-energy performance that is a modern take on the film that started it all, Steamboat Willie. With some help from the audience, Mickey and pals journey through the various Disney worlds, sharing meaningful moments from treasured tales spanning generations to determine what their favourite memory of all time is.

Families will be taken on a high-seas adventure with Moana, as she displays courage to save her island. Venture to the wintry world of Arendelle, as royal sisters Anna and Elsa discover true love is the most powerful magic of all. And experience the mysterious magic of Fantasia as a Sorcerer’s Apprentice makes brooms come to life.

The Emotions – Joy, Sadness, Anger, Fear and Disgust– from Disney and Pixar’s animation, Inside Out, make their Disney On Ice debut as the hosts of the show relive classic and contemporary Disney stories in an emotional roller coaster with Mickey and the gang.

Fans will find themselves under the sea with their favourite, forgetful blue tang, Dory, as she embarks on a life-changing journey to find her family. Audiences will also join the Disney Princesses as they use perseverance, determination and hard work to inspire Mickey and children around the world to celebrate their favourite Disney memories.

As the show builds to the finale, fans will have the opportunity to vote and pick outfits for Mickey and Minnie to wear during the final celebration.

A Little Bit About The Artists

Carlo Bernini earned the title of Conductor in 1999 at Livorno Conservatoire, under the guidance of Maestro Lorenzo Paris. Since 1986, Maestro Bernini has been Andrea Bocelli’s friend and artistic director. Bernini and Bocelli have worked together doing concerts, operas, classical recordings and have collaborated with record companies alongside the greatest conductors, such as Z. Mehta, L. Maazel, G. Sinopoli.

Cuban Soprano, Maria Aleida started her musical studies at the Vicente Emilio Sojo Conservatory in Venezuela in 1999. She currently studies with voice teacher, Bill Schuman. She won the Montserrat Caballe international voice competition in Zaragoza (2008), the Mario Lanza Institute in Philadelphia (2009). She is a resident artist at The Academy of Vocal Arts in Philadelphia. In 2016/17 she joined Andrea Bocelli as soloist in concert in such venues as Florence, Lisbon and Panama. In 2017 she joined a series of concerts with Andrea Bocelli in such venues as Tashkent, Graz, Linz, Marbella, Amsterdam, Kaunas, Riga, Krakow, Bratislava and Budapest.

Pop guest, Beverley Knight, has been one of the UK's most consistent artists for two decades, scoring several Top 10 albums, including the platinum selling Voice: The Best of Beverley Knight. Her latest album, Soulsville, was released in June 2016 and went straight into the UK Top 10. She has collaborated on stage and on record with the likes of Prince, Jamiroquai, Bryan Adams, Carlos Santana, Andrea Bocelli, Jamie Cullum, Joss Stone, Take That and Chaka Kahn.

Violinist Anastasiya Petryshak began performing at the age of 8, participating and winning numerous important national and international competitions under the direction of Marta Kalynchuk. In 2005, she moved to Italy to continue her violin studies, later becoming, at the age of just fifteen, the youngest violinist in the high specialisation violin course held by Maestro Salvatore Accardo at the “Walter Stauffer” International Academy in Cremona and at the Chigiana Academy in Siena. Since 2010 she has been working regularly as a soloist and in duets with Andrea Bocelli, joining him in many concerts to great public and critical acclaim.

Andrea Bocelli has recorded 15 solo studio albums of both pop and classical music, three greatest hits albums and nine complete opera. For his latest release, Si, Andrea Bocelli has teamed up with some of the hottest musical stars on the planet – reuniting with his friend Ed Sheeran after their chart-topping ‘Perfect Symphony’ on a brand-new song called Amo Soltanto Te (written by Ed with lyrics by Tiziano Ferro) and joining with pop sensation, Dua Lipa, on the single If Only. Crossover superstar, Josh Groban, and classical soprano, Aida Garifullina, also duet with Bocelli on the record. It is his first album of new material in 14 years – 16 brand new songs which celebrate love, family, faith and hope.

At the centre of the new record is a spine-tingling duet between father-and-son, as 20 year-old Matteo Bocelli steps into the limelight to duet with Andrea on ‘Fall On Me’ – a beautifully poignant song which reflects the bond between parent and child.
