They're calling Melrose Arch their Signature Store, and rightly so. It's a beaut!

So pop in for a decadent sweet treat and a freshly brewed cup of coffee to brighten up your day.

Dicks Sweets

Since 1938, the family-run Dicks Sweets has manufactured nougat, fudge, Turkish delight, boilings, coconut ice, honeycomb and novelty candies.  Dicks Sweets was so in demand that the family decided to open a shop in Montreux (pretty much Northcliff) to cater to the public. Their prices are super low and you can buy in bulk as well. It's also a great place to find nuts that won't break the bank.

Sunrise Sweets

Not just another sweet store in Johannesburg, Sunrise Sweets in the West Rand also sells party supplies (think Minions paper plates and party horns). But let's stick to the good stuff for now. Sunrise Sweets stocks almost every kind of candy you can think of. From shoestring jellies to pink lemonade-flavoured Zombie Chews, they've got you covered. And what about chocolate? Oh, yes they have that too!

The Moody Cow

All you need to know is that you can get some of the best ice cream, gelato and candy in Joburg at a little shop in the West Rand called Moody Cow. They specialise predominantly in gelato and other ice cream treats such as milk shakes and such, but they do have an epic candy section where you can purchase everything from hard boils to biltong.

Lindt Chocolate Boutique

No list of candy shops in Joburg is complete without a trip to the Lindt Chocolate Boutique in Sandton. It's crazy to think that something which started in 1879 in the Bernese Alps of Switzerland has made its way to the edge of Africa. Either way, we're glad to be able to dabble in the smoothest, silkiest and most chocolatiest chocolate around. Get your fill of Lindt goodness at their flagship store in Sandton City. There you can find all things Lindt, from their chocolate balls to chilli chocolate slabs.

Creative Sweets is currently the exclusive import agents for Gum-Bo Ballz, Bebeto, Zed Candy, Oatfield Confectionery, Goudas Gilde and King brands in South Africa.

Sweet Hypermarket

If you can't find it in your local grocery store, then you'll definitely find it at Sweet Hypermarket in Crown City. We'd never heard of this area (apparently it's just around the corner from Fordsburg), but we'll definitely check it out since this hypermarket sounds 'sweet'. They have everything from biscuits, chewy candy, chocolates and imported goodies to novelty sweets, toffees, chips, marshmallows, liquorice, lollipops and much more. Talk about a sugar overload!

Geldof Chocolatiers

Geldof Chocolatiers is the perfect spot to get your chocolate fix. They make everything from Easter eggs to chocolate Santas and truffles. Luckily, they have a factory outlet in Randburg, which stocks all their delicious products at wholesale prices. Tip: ring the doorbell a few times before giving up – they are often busy in the back making chocolate like a team of Oompa Loompas. Just be careful, you'll want to buy everything in there!

Beyers Chocolate Factory Shop

This is another one for our chocoholics – you can stock up on your favourite Beyers Chocolates at their factory shops in Kempton Park, Kyalami and Bedfordview. Just imagine having your own stash of Sweetie Pies, Amarula chocolates, truffles, caramel stars and much more! Seriously, this couldn’t hurt.
