What Is It?
With Spring about to be sprung on us, why not get some stunning garden inspiration at the Johannesburg Garden Club's Open Gardens Meander? Five previously unseen gardens will be made open to the public this September to raise funds for a wonderful cause – the Johannesburg Child Welfare.
With sustainable gardening more popular than ever, this year’s Meander will focus on beautiful sites producing herbs, fruits and vegetables from inspiring kitchen gardens.
Visitors can still expect individuality from each of the participating gardens though. They range from charming to sprawling, each boasting its own showstopper water feature. Every garden will also feature a plant sale with individual specialties including Clivias, Azaleas, Clematis, Irises and Johannesburg Garden Club members’ own cultivated plants. Refreshments and a tea garden will also be available at one of the gardens, giving visitors plenty of opportunity to relax and freshen up.
When Is It?
Saturday, 15 September 2018 - Sunday, 16 September 2018 from 10:00 to 17:00.
Where Is It?
The event will take place at five stunning, previously unseen gardens in the suburbs of Atholl and Bryanston, which will be open to the public.

You can enjoy sipping wine at a classy hotel, in a cigar lounge or in front of a roaring fireplace in a cosy pub. You can even choose to savour your wine aboard a luxurious cruiser down Millionaire’s Mile, at sunset on a boathouse overlooking the Vaal, or in a character-filled wine cellar.
Operating times for the wine tastings are 12:00 to 18:00, however each venue has different operating times for meals, special offers, etc, so contact them directly to enquire about their wine-tasting times. Most of the venues will be selling wines at cost plus 10%, so you can purchase the wines you really enjoy at very good prices.
