What Is It?

Mix 93.8 FM and Channeled Events bring you the first ever Mix Fest, this September. This two day music festival is hosted by the Cradle Moon Game Lodge, at the Cradle of Humankind. The event not only boasts a stellar music line-up, but also multiple bars and a pop-up food market. There is accommodation available at the venue. Alternatively, there is a park and ride shuttle option which travels to and from Montecasino each day.

The line-up includes:

Mango Groove, Jeremy Loops, Springbok Nude Girls, Desmond and the Tutus, Watershed, Shortstraw, Rubber Duc, The Black Cat Bones, CrashCarBurn, Shotgun Tori, Wolfgang Marrow, The Color Blew, CHLLFCTRY, Jerry and the Bandits, Michael Lesar and the Mix FM Presenters and DJs!

September is deaf-awareness month. As such, Mix 93.8 FM will donate a portion of all ticket sales to the Rotary Club. Donations will also be accepted towards the charity organization at the Silent Mix private headphone party on the Saturday night.

Surely you have heard by now that the ever-popular Lusito Land Festival is back! It'll be taking place from 20 - 22 April 2019 and again from 26 - 28 April 2019 at the Cayman Road venue in Johannesburg South. Not only can you expect plenty of family-friendly fun, but you can also enjoy all things Portuguese, from traditional Portuguese folk dancing and community artists, to delectable edibles. It's going to be an amazing festival! plus, we can now give you an inside look at the entertainment planned for the first weekend of this iconic Jozi festival...

Expect Epic Music

For your musical entertainment, festival goers will be enthralled with this year's lineup of live acts, which covers a wide range genres and artists.

This year, there will also be an awesome '80s rock show celebrating and paying tribute to the best alternative rock bands of the decade! The Hey Now, HEY NOW NOW band will take to the Lusito Land stage on Saturday, 20 April 2019 for a two-hour show jam-packed with '80s alternative music, taking you on a nostalgic trip down Memory Lane.

Lots Of Fun For Everyone

There's plenty of entertainment in store for all ages! The family can enjoy a two-hour show featuring South Africa’s top 10 wrestlers in an international-standard wrestling ring.  The little ones can also be part of the wrestling fun by safely showing off their smackdown skills under the watchful eye of a ring master. An autograph session plus photos with the wrestlers will be available after the show.

And of course, Lusito Land is not Lusito Land without their thrilling and exciting funfair! The fairground will be jam-packed with all sorts of exhilarating rides perfect for all ages. Make sure you get your ride tickets at the funfair ticket office before heading off to the queues.

And this year, there will be something for the animal loving guests. The Joy Dogs will be at Lusito Land, where festival goers can meet talented canines and be entertained while they show off some of their tricks.

The festival grounds have recently undergone a revamp with freshly-planted luscious grass all over the venue to ensure comfort. With this year's event being their biggest yet, you definitely don't want to miss out.

There's Also A Little Bit Of Charity

The Lusito Land Festival goes beyond having the best musical acts or giving visitors an authentic taste of Portuguese food and culture. It is an event that aims to raise awareness about differently abled people and make these people more visible to society at large. In true spirit of the cause there will be a fun 5km walk for the disabled on Sunday, 28 April 2019 from 08:00 with an entry fee of R150 per person, that also covers your entrance into the festival.

The legendary Mango Groove will be celebrating 30 Years together with a 30th anniversary  concert performance at Montecasino. The eleven-piece South African band has given us hits like Special Star, The Lion Sleeps Tonight and Pennywhistle. Their music combines pop and township music—especially marabi and kwela. Since their foundation in 1984, they've  released six studio albums and numerous singles. They've regaled audiences all over the world with their sound and are now celebrating the culmination of 3 decades in the music industry at Montecasino.
