What Is It?

The weather’s getting warmer, which makes it the perfect time to get outdoors with your loved ones. And where better to spend Spring Day weekend than at Melrose Arch, where the brand-new season is being welcomed with a day of family fun complete with a lovely market, delicious food and great music, as well as entertainment and children's activities?

From the organisers of the ever-popular Fourways Farmers Market, the Spring Market will be held along High Street from 09:00 to 18:00. Enjoy a leisurely stroll along the pedestrianised area and treat your palate to an array of gourmet delights. There’ll be everything from burgers, sushi, pizza and tacos to Indian, Greek, Arabic and Argentinian food, as well as sweet-tooth treats like churros, petits fours, waffles, tarts, sweets and gelato, among other delicious artisanal goods. While enjoying your food, you'll be entertained by various live musicians performing on High Street, and from 13:00 to 16:00, the Belting Betties will perform 'Gatsbyesque' and post-modern jazz hits.

On the Piazza, if you're still hungry, settle down for a meal at one of the fine restaurants and catch some live music from Smanga, Mr Brown, Nu Season and DJ Zan-D from 12:00 to 17:00. Oh! And don't forget to stop by the M&M Pop-Up Kiosk along the way and buy some of your favourite sweets!

As for the kids, they'll get to play with Thomas the Tank Engine train sets and have their faces painted, while roaming buskers will entertain with magic tricks and balloon sculpting.

There’s an added bonus for art lovers, as The Melrose Gallery’s second annual SculptX Fair is taking place from 31 August – 30 September 2018. The works of more than 40 established and emerging South African sculptors can be seen in the gallery and a number of public areas around Melrose Arch. View exquisite pieces by the likes of Anton Smit, Willie Bester, Pitika Ntuli, Vusi Khumalo, Bridget Modema and Richard Chauke in High Street, Melrose Boulevard, Whiteley Rd and the Upper Level of the Galleria.
