This 2001 live-action film is one of the best tools to help you explain the workings of the human body and viruses to your little ones. Osmosis Jones follows the life of Frank DeTorre, an unhygienic zookeeper. When Frank picks up a serious virus, the anthropomorphised cells in his body work overtime to try and get Frank healthy again. There is no better film to teach children about hygiene during these tough times.
While under lockdown, children may feel a lot of anxiety and stress, and may not be sure how to express their feelings in a healthy way. Enter Inside Out. This Pixar animation is set in the mind of Riley, an 11-year-old girl who moves to a new town. Throughout the movie, we see her personified feelings - Joy, Anger, Fear, Disgust and Sadness - try and guide her through life and all of its experiences. This is a great movie to help teach children about their emotions and how to deal with them.
Epic is a 2013 animated film that's perfect to get your child's mind off missing their friends and being at school. Let your child join the adventure of M.K., a 17-year-old who gets magically shrunk. While being tiny, she must go on a quest to save the kingdom of tiny humanoid soldiers, known as Leafmen. While on her escapade, M.K. learns the true meaning of friendship and the value of family, as your little ones will, no doubt.
This classic movie has been entertaining children of all ages since 1984. This enchanting story delves into the life of a young boy, Bastian, who reads a fantastical book about Fantasia. Fantasia is a mythical land slowly being devoured by the Nothing. In order to save Fantasia, Bastian needs to believe in the power of his imagination. The Neverending Story, along with its two sequels, is a wonderful movie to inspire children's own creativity.
Jumanji was one of our favourite movies as children. Share the love of this classic with your kids during their extended break and watch their faces light up as they follow the story of this mystical board game that causes havoc and destruction in the lives of its players. This 1995 fantasy adventure film is followed by the 2017 Jumanji: Welcome To The Jungle and the 2019 Jumanji: The Next Level, perfect for video game loving children.
If your children are feeling lonely and nagging to be with their friends, then this is the perfect movie for them. After his parents die, Lewis moves in with his eccentric uncle, Jonathan. Being in a new town, living with a stranger and having no friends, Lewis starts to feel very much alone. That is until he learns his uncle's secret. Jonathan is really a magical warlock, who coaches Lewis in the art of magic. Soon, uncle and nephew find themselves saving the world.
