William Kentridge is well known for his approach towards creating art through collaboration. This spirit of artistic generosity is evident in his 24 year collaboration with the Artist Proof Studio, which has enable thousands of talented young print makers to flourish. In celebration of this collaborative partnership, the FADA Gallery at the University of Johannesburg will be hosting a conversation between Kentridge the the Artist Proof Studio's Kim Berman. Come through to the gallery to see the close of the Artist Proof Studio: A Journey in Co-creation exhibition, too.
In their conversation, Kim Berman and William Kentridge will explore the multiple ways in which co-creation is integral to printmaking processes. Kentridge will also discuss many of his latest and future collaborations including his upcoming retrospective in Cape Town which will be held at Zeitz MOCAA and the Norval Foundation. The upcoming retrospective will be the largest exhibition of his work ever held in Africa. A limited edition series of recent etchings by William Kentridge will be on offer for sale at a special rate. Proceeds will support the APS Education Endowment Fund.
This will be an exciting evening of conversation, plus there will be delicious eats served by Artevita Mastrantonio. So, don't miss it.
