Petrol heads, start your engines! The Festival of Motoring is returning to the city this August for another revving event, bringing you some of the best motoring excitement and entertainment in the country.
People from all over South Africa attend this thrilling extravaganza to celebrate the love and beauty of cars of all models. This is not your average motoring event.
Other than bringing the entire motoring industry together, it also allows visitors to not only view and admire the latest models and classic beauts, but to experience both the performance and handling of these cars on the track.
This four day event will be jam-packed with plenty of motoring and family-friendly activities, making it the perfect day out for the whole family.
Smell, feel, touch, view and experience all the leading manufactures with this unique and interactive festival. Here are a few features to look out for at this year's event:
Don't miss the opportunity to see the only official BMW 7 series modified race car in the world. BMW 745i Modified “Art Car” is a beautiful machine, which was raced by Tony Viana. A famous local artist has painted the rear of the car to depict the Culture of Johannesburg. This will be its first public appearance. The BMW 745i Modified “Art Car” can be found at Garage 1 at the Festival of Motoring. It'll be on display and on track. Trust us, nothing sounds like this car!
Don't miss the recreation of the famous 1977 Wynns 1000 race winner, driven by Jody Scheckter. This is the only South African domiciled race car to be invited to Goodwood. You can find this beauty on display and on track. She certainly has an incredible sound.
The Cape Town based V8 Series will be making a rare visit to Kyalami! Expect 10 V8 Mustangs on track with local V8 Supercars. They will be taking to the track for practice on Friday, and the races will take place on both Saturday and Sunday. The pit area upper platform will be open to the public.
