Other than the sudden chill in the air and the oh-so obvious darkness in the mornings, the trees are starting to change colour and lose their leaves! From bright and vibrant green to beautiful, deep and rich shades of brown, auburn, red and orange, the city it transforming into an autumn wonderland! And what better place to view this seasonal change than by visiting one of the city's parks and taking a leisurely stroll through the leaves? Don't forget to take your phone along with you to snap a few shots for Instagram! A few parks to definitely visit during this season is the Johannesburg Botanical Gardens and the Water Sisulu Botanical Gardens.
A change in season means a change in wardrobe. This is the perfect time to start packing away all those summer shorts, flowy sundresses and sandals and replace them with warm jerseys, bulky jackets and stylish boots. But while you do the wardrobe switch up, why sort through all your clothes and donate the items you no long want to the less fortunate? Not only will you be doing something kind but you'll also be making room for new seasonal fashion must-haves! We all know how cold our city can get during the chillier months, so why not do something nice and donate your old clothes and other pre-loved items you no longer need or use.
Now, just because you will be wearing cozy boots doesn't mean it's time to neglect the toes and not enjoy a well-deserved pedi! Any season is the right time to have a spoil and get your toes done so that they look amazing when they do come out of those new fashionable boots you bought for the upcoming chilly season. And not to worry, you don't need to bust the bank to enjoy beautiful toes! Here's a few spots in Johannesburg where you can get a pedicure for under R350!
Although we are embracing the new season and everything that comes along with it right now, there's no harm in planning and thinking ahead, especially when it comes to our gardens! It's tome to start prepping your garden for spring! To get your started and to get the best advice on what to plant when and where in your garden, visit one of the city's plant nurseries and garden centres. One garden centre we highly recommend you visit is Lifestyle Home Garden Centre in Randpark Ridge. Not only will they have plenty of inspiration for your garden, but they're also currently hosting their 2021 Lifestyle Garden Design Show.
A change is as good as a holiday, so put away all of those brightly coloured scatter cushions and vibrant decor and replace them with items with a more autumn colour palette and feel. Think soft rugs on bare floors, throws over couches to cuddle in when the evenings get colder, and perhaps a little heater in the corner of your living room. But if you're looking to save on electricity during the colder months (because let's face it, we use more electricity to keep us warm during winter, resulting in sky high electric bills), then here are a few tips and easy changes to keep you warm without the heater this winter. Be sure to visit your nearest homeware stores to shop for some chilly night essentials!
Before the cold hits, why not enjoy the cool yet still warmer days of autumn by visiting one of the city's top markets? Not only will you get to enjoy the fresh autumn air and enjoy the scenery, but you'll also just to shop for some lovely, locally made items, tuck into some delicious season treats and even get a few steps in along the way as your wander through all of the stores. This makes for a lovely autumn day out and about in the city. We suggest a trip to the Fourways Farmers Market at Modderfontein Reserve, just 10km from Sandton.
Since you will be spending a little more time indoors as the seasons change and the weather gets chillier, why not pick up on a brand-new hobby to do in the comfort of your own home? This one isn't only fun but it'll most definitely keep you warm! If you don't know how to knit, now is the chance to learn! You can make your own scarf, beanie, quilted blanket, and if you become a knitting master, even a few jerseys for you and your loved ones! Here's where you can get started on your winter knitting journey. Trust us, it's easy to start!

Lotto is betting on the result of the official lottery draw like SA lotto, SA Powerball and several other lotto draws available, when you are betting on lotto, you must pick the numbers that you think will be drawn and if those numbers are drawn, you will win yourself prizes. Lucky Numbers on the other hand is betting not on the actual lotto, but rather you will be betting on the outcome of the lottery draw. It is important to note that Lucky Numbers betting is hugely reliant on Lotto draws.
Despite the fact that punters may not truly understand what lucky numbers are, the popularity of lucky numbers in South Africa is amazing and that is the reason why almost all bookmakers in South Africa like Hollywoodbets Lucky Numbers and several others are offering this product. This article seeks to investigate what really makes LuckyNumbers so popular.
If you are into betting, you will understand that it is very difficult to bet on international lotteries like the US Powerball, Megamillions and other popular international lotteries, that is where lucky numbers come in because they give you an opportunity to bet on those lotteries in a way. While it is true that when you are betting on Lucky Numbers, you wouldn't be betting on the actual lotto, at least you get the feel of betting on these lotteries.
When you bet on lucky numbers, you will have access of a number of betting markets because with lotto, you just have to predict the numbers to be drawn and you will win prizes based on the amount of numbers you would have guessed correctly, however, with lucky numbers, there are several betting markets namely; (these vary with the draw):
Very few people want to share money and that is the reason why people enjoy betting on lucky numbers because unlike most lotteries which are parimutuel, lucky numbers payouts are not determined by how many people win because lucky numbers uses fixed odds and therefore the payout is fixed.
With most South African bookmakers, you will be able to place a Lucky Numbers bet for as low as R1 and this is great especially considering the financial challenges people are facing at the moment. As a result people are opting to bet on the cheaper option than betting on lotto draws even if lotto draws offer huge potential payouts.

Constitution Hill is in Braamfontein, just up the road from the train station, and deserves your attention. And you know what's even more exciting on this day?
Though it's not in Johannesburg, it still deserves our attention – besides, Pretoria is pretty much Joburg's little brother anyway. Why not skip the movie marathon and grab one of these books for your reading pleasure: Steve Biko's I Write What I Like, Breyten Breytenbach's The Confessions of an Albino Terrorist or Nelson Mandela's Long Walk to Freedom. It's a good excuse to curl up in bed as the April weather takes a turn.
