In partnership with SkyRoomLive, Joburg Life, 947 and Times Live, get ready for a live streamed music event that's sure to reach new heights! Helivation is set to elevate South African streaming events when it will, for the first time, stream live from a spectacular Sandton helipad with 360-degree panoramic skyline views, epic DJs and world-class production. Helivation will be a first-of-its-kind, in a time when live events as we know them are restricted.

As lockdown lingers and the live events industry struggles, there are some who are innovating to build new platforms and experiences for fans, musicians and crews alike – and to come together to keep the SA events scene alive. The event is the brainchild of live streaming pioneers, SkyRoomLive, and experienced events management company, Joburg Life, in partnership with 947 and Times Live.

For the first time since lockdown, DJs and artists will actually travel to and perform at a music venue, not from their homes. With strict health and safety measures in place, the DJs will play live sets to audiences at home across the country atop a helipad.

Already confirmed to perform are DJ Fresh, Euphonik, Chrizz Beatz, Ayanda MVP, DJ Dimples, Shimza and Kyle Watson, with more to be announced as more tickets are sold.

Not only will the production quality and view from the SkyRoomLive helipad at The Block set it apart from all other live streamed events, but the artists and crews are being booked and paid, for the first time in months. This set-up will provide a much-needed lifeline to many artists and crew who have in the last few months seen themselves without any income due to lockdown restrictions.

Helivation is a festival fuelled by you! With every event ticket sold, the party is elevated to a new level. Each level unlocks new artists, floors, tech, drones and innovation, building an even more phenomenal live streamed experience. With each new artist and element that gets added to the festival, the industry is being supported, from riggers, camera operators, lighting and AV technicians to social media managers, editors and promoters.

As more tickets are sold, Helivation will unlock names, like PH, Milkshake, Speedsta, Cinnamon and Capital.

Also, not only will you have a great music lineup, but you'll also be contributing to an amazing cause! A percentage of the money raised through ticket sales will be used to help entertainment crews who’ve been hit during the pandemic.

Helivation also aims to provide a platform for other promoters to host their own pay-per-view shows. These shows will support tech companies by providing much needed work for the backend crew in the events industry.

DJ Zinhle

Born in Dannhauser, a small town in Kwa-Zulu Natal, Zinhle Jiyane, aka DJ Zinhle, has become one of the most celebrated female house DJs in South Africa. And she is bringing umlilo (the fire) this December. So, be sure to not miss any action coming from her!

Dino Bravo @DJDINOBRAVO

Born in Cuba and raised in Angola, DJ Dino Bravo moved to South Africa in the early 90s, where he started spinning vinyl at Club 51 in Yeoville. With a career that spans 30 years, this well-known DJ is revered for his eclectic fusion of genres, including hip-hop, kwaito, pop, Bhangra music and more.

Euphonik @EUPHONIK

DJ Euphonik is one of South Africa's most popular DJs, whose dance music spans a variety of genres, including commercial house, Afro-house, deep house, R&B and kwaito. Euphonik was given a DJ slot on DJ Fresh's show on 5FM and soon afterwards bagged his own show on the same radio station.

DJ Fresh @DJFRESHSA

Fresh, AKA 'Big Dawg', started his career as a DJ on YFM and later moved to 5FM, where he hosted both the morning and afternoon drive shows for nine years. Currently, DJ Fresh hosts The Fresh Breakfast Show on Metro FM.

DJ Ready D @DJREADYD

DJ Ready D, also known as The Black Battle Cat or DJ X-Plode, catapulted onto the scene after winning the South African National DJ Championship in 1990. In 2005, he released his first solo album and a second called Big Air Society in 2014. As a music producer, TV host, radio DJ and mentor to many aspiring hip-hop artists, Ready D is undoubtedly one of the most skilled and versatile musical artists South Africa has ever seen.
