We are already planning outfits to wear at the fashion show, because it's that time yet again to rub shoulders with the big guns in the fashion industry. Make sure you get into the spirit of fashion week, so that you do not miss out on the amazing looks and great styles that will be walking down the runway. So, now that we've spilled the tea, who are you looking forward to seeing? Trust us when we say you are going to have a hard time picking just a few items, because the runway will be on fire.

The AfroAsia Theme

The AfroAsia Theme

Celebrating some of Africa’s best designers, mixed with Asian influences during the four-day event in October. This is definitely a must attend event. The #AfroAsia themed event runs from 4 to 6 October at Melrose Arch, before closing with two spectacular final shows at iconic Johannesburg landmarks on 7 October. AFI Joburg Fashion Week will showcase designers from across the continent, including Nigeria’s Deola Sagoe and Clan and South Africa’s David Tlale, Laduma and Gavin Rajah who will create a glorious fashion melting-pot with Asian designers from Japan, Cambodia and China. See we told you, we are playing with the big guns in the industry, and it sure will be one for the books.

AFI Fashion Week

To enhance designers’ exposure on international fashion platforms and industries, AFI has forged a partnership with Tokyo Fashion Week. Through this, a designer showing at AFI Joburg Fashion Week 2018 will receive an opportunity and potentially career-changing prize. One selected designer will be assisted to show at the next Tokyo Fashion Week in Japan. Sounds like something hey? We think so too.

What To Look Forward To

Four, yes four days of nothing but the best in fashion, giving your eyes more to feast on. Fashion Week attendees will have an opportunity to shop the ramp at the Designer Boutique and be the first to own the latest designer collections. AFI is said to be a huge exposure platform in African design talents on world class platforms, assisting them to attract and conquer local markets and recieve international exposure by focusing on business of fashion.
