What do I need to bring to paint night?
Just a sense of humour and willingness to engage. We have everything set out for you, paints, pallet, brushes, aprons and lots of delicious wine so you can just sit back relax and enjoy.

What is the structure of the paint night?
It is a lovely intimate setting. We typically start with a welcome drink after which guest will settle down with their own easel, paints, canvas and brushes. Lillian Gray then guides them step by step in creating a unique artwork. All participants will be painting the same image, and by the end of the night, each artist will take their creation home. Wine can be enjoyed before, during and after the session.

What is included?
Table Easels
Brushes (Small, Medium, Large), palettes, water containers, paper towels.
Canvas A3 stretched on a frame – ready to hang.
Aprons and optional plastic gloves for those who wish to keep their hands clean
Refreshments

The RMB Turbine Art Fair is the epicentre of emerging contemporary art, celebrating established and new talent in an accessible and neutral environment. The Rand Merchant Bank promotes access to the arts by supporting and hosting emerging artists, and the goal of the RMB Turbine Art Fair is to attract a diverse audience, together with existing and new collectors.

Turbine Art Fair

The RMB Turbine Art Fair is an all-encompassing cultural experience for visitors, with artisanal food and beverages, vibrant music and an interactive talks programme. It differentiates itself from other South African art fairs through its accessible pricing strategy. The selling price of artworks generally falls between R1000 and R50 000, which presents opportunities for savvy investors and new buyers to invest in up-and-coming artists and extend their collections easily, and for new artists to thrive off of this talent platform.

“Since its inception in 2013, audiences of all backgrounds have been delighted by the RMB Turbine Art Fair's celebration of creativity and have come to anticipate the Fair’s exciting interpretation of visual art, music and food. We aim to educate, entertain and sell – to inspire!” says Glynis Hyslop, founder of Turbine Art Fair and MD of The Forum Company.

Galleries representing established and emerging artists, art organisations and original projects, present their efforts side by side, creating a synergy that is infectious to all who visit.

Turbine Art Fair

Says Alison Badenhorst, Head of RMB Corporate Marketing, “The business philosophy core to RMB’s 40-year history of success is ‘Traditional values. Innovative Ideas’. The visual arts both capture and communicate powerfully across this spectrum, reflecting the spirit of the time and fueling socio/economic and political discussion that may otherwise remain unheard. It is refreshing to see artists who, through their works, influence robust discussion, action or reaction, because of the relative permanence of their pieces in individual or corporate collections.”

RMB Turbine Art Fair will take place from Thursday 12th July (VIP Opening) to Sunday 15th July 2018 at Turbine Hall,  Newtown, the cultural precinct of Johannesburg.
