What Is It?
Gabrielle Goliath stole the show at the 2019 Makhanda National Arts Festival with her interactive video installation titled, “This Song is For”. Winning her the Standard Bank Young Artist for Visual Arts award, the exhibition pays homage to victims of abuse. If you weren’t fortunate enough to experience the exhibition at the NAF, visit the Standard Bank Arts Gallery from Friday, 26 July 2019.
“This Song is For”, offers spectators an immersive, sonic experience. Gabrielle Goliath created this work in collaboration with survivors of abuse and musical ensembles. As a result, the feelings evoked by the exhibition may surprise you, as they have many others. Needless to say, this won’t be an experience you will easily forget. If you only see one exhibition in 2019, make it this one. We’ll see you there.
This Friday at the Standard Bank Gallery, we're proud to open #thissongisfor by 2019 Standard Bank Young Artist for Visual Art, Gabrielle Goliath. You're invited to experience the immersive, sonic space that she's created in collaboration with survivors of abuse and musical ensembles. The feelings evoked by this exhibition have surprised previous visitors, join us to discover why…26 July – 14 September at the Standard Bank Gallery📸 "This song is for…" installation view.
