The authentic Mexican beer has been taking South Africa by storm –with its easy drinking, any occasion celebration of “Espiritu Libre” – the spirit of freedom.

Being true and committed to the spirit of freedom and independence – SOL will deliver a series of exciting events dubbed UnSOLicited. These Unsolicited events capture the essence of SOL and offer unique opportunities where fans can quench their thirst for fresh new experiences.

“We want to offer South Africans a range of epic experiences that allow them to try something new and that is why we are so excited about our first Sol Unsolicited event: Sounds of Freedom. It really offers our fans a bold, fresh new experience that they won’t find anywhere else,” says Miss Thembi Butelezi SOL Senior Brand Manager.

To celebrate the iconic Mexican beer’s launch in South Africa, SOL has teamed up with one of the country’s most iconic hip-hop acts Skwatta Kamp. The group reunited on 26 March 2017 for the inaugural event under the title “The Sound of Freedom”.

This was be an exclusive once-off performance at Maboneng’s Poolside to celebrate the arrival of SOL beer in South Africa.

“SOL is an authentic Mexican beer that has been around since 1899. It’s a beer that was born at the time of Mexico’s revolution and is imbibed with a spirit of freedom, independence and adventure. That’s why it was a natural fit to celebrate our arrival in South Africa by collaborating with a band that was born around the time as South Africa’s independence,” says Thembi Butelezi.

SOL together with Skwatta Kamp offered fans an exciting set that included all the classics playing out in a fresh urban setting that inspires South Africans from all walks of life.

Here’s a little video we shot at the Sol event:
