SIPS brings you another gem in Melville’s famous 7th Street. If you love to wine and dine, then you’re in luck!

SIPS is a one-of-a-kind, authentically South African wine restaurant and retailer on Melville’s 7th Street. SIPS is a gin bar, cigar lounge and wine restaurant all in one location. They have a fabulous wine collection, cocktail hours, shooters specials and jars specials. Cocktails and whiskey are usually on special for buy one, get one free.

During the week, SIPS is the perfect spot for an intimate dinner over a glass of wine. A sommelier will give you a tour of the wine collection so you can pick your favourites and find some new ones. Saturday mimosa brunch with friends?

Hop in during your Melville visit and you may be in luck for some bottomless champagne or sparkling wine. Oh, by the way, they also sell hubbly bubbly (hookah). SIPS on 7th Street also hosts events such as games nights, sunny Saturdays and chilled Sundays.

Ancient Formula, made with Beefeater gin, Carpano Antica Formula Vermouth, Campari, lemon and orange zest
The Suicide Blonde, made with Absolut vodka, fresh lime, elderflower cordial, Prosecco
The Spritzer, made with Aperol, Maraschino syrup, grapefruit bitter, Prosecco
Walk in the Park made with Johnny Walker Black whisky, Southern Comfort, Jägermeister, Créme de Cassis liqueur, chocolate bitter
The Antidote is made with Beefeater gin, Amaro Cynar, Kamm & Son, and infused with ginger beer, cucumber, strawberries, star anise

Some of their starters include salmon and prawn hotdogs. To pair with their wines, you can order snacks like the olives, spicy cashews, popcorns, chips, deconstructed fish & chips, burgers and platters to share. They also have “mains” such as lamb shank on mash for those that come thirsty and hungry!

SIPS is not only for lovers of alcohol, they also have non-alcoholic cocktails such as the Mokito, Berry Mule, Alibi and the Black Forest. Dessert options include chocolate ganache made with salted corn pralines, sour cream sorbet, corn custard and lemon cake with olive powder & fennel ice cream. Your date with wine awaits you at SIPS!
