Maboneng’s Uber-Cool LoveRevo

LoveRevo, the small restaurant in the uber-trendy precinct of Maboneng, is’s Design Campaign Manager Musa Moeketsi’s favourite spot to sit back with friends and share a meal.

Situated on the corner of Fox Street, LoveRevo serves up delicious food and cocktails. It also has a beautiful rooftop section where you can drink in the views of the streets below. The service is friendly and their décor is simple yet effective, with splashes of red, white and black and hearts made out of geometric shapes.

The food is served in small, healthy portions so you’re always guaranteed quality. Their ribs and chops are my go-to orders – they’re tasty and perfectly cooked. And who can resist some peri-peri sauce to drizzle over succulent chicken or sosaties?

On Saturday and Sunday afternoons they have indie bands performing live, serenading customers with their unique sounds. Sometimes, if you’re lucky, you could even catch a singalong to add your voice to… The owner, Senzo Mncadi, is a friendly guy and ensures that customers are always happy and comfortable. He’s hands-on (as I believe most owners should be) and professional – even when there could be a problem.

But what makes it that little bit more special? LoveRevo runs a cycling club, which meets at the restaurant every Thursday evening after a sweaty session of city cycling. So, not only do they offer a fantastic place to feast and relax, they’re also promoting a healthy lifestyle.
