Indian Diwali Festival and Market at 27 Boxes

  • Date: Saturday, 19 October 2019.

October is the month of celebrations. So why not celebrate the Festival of Lights at 27 Boxes? There’ll be plenty of entertainment to delight both young and old, from food stalls offering delicious cuisine and amazing live entertainment to a spectacular show of light. There will also be traditional Indian dancers and DJs taking centre stage to keep you entertained all day long. Also, pick up a delicious selection of sweet meats, incense and lamps while you’re there.

BMW M Festival 2019

  • Date: Saturday, 26 October 2019 to Sunday, 27 October 2019.
  • Venue: Kyalami Grand Prix Circuit, R55 & Allandale Road, Kyalami, Midrand, Johannesburg.

Motor lovers, this one is for you! The exciting BMW M Festival 2019 is taking over the Kyalami Grand Prix Circuit later this October, bringing you an exciting lineup you don’t want to miss. You can expect everything from BMW test drive experiences, gourmet food trucks and stalls and a kiddies play area to live entertainment, a BMW luxury car exhibition and much more. This is a motoring festival that you certainly don’t want to miss.

Doritos Presents The Festival de Mexico Halloween Festival

  • Date: Saturday, 26 October 2019.
  • Venue: Montecasino, 1 Montecasino Boulevard, Fourways, Johannesburg.

Head to Montecasino on Halloween Weekend for the Doritos Festival de Mexico Halloween Festival. There’s bound to be something for everyone at this extravaganza. Spend the day indulging in the best Mexican cuisine, having a blast with tons of fun activities, or see if you’re the scariest one of them all at the best dressed competition, where you’ll stand the chance of winning an awesome M&M and Skittles prize hamper. Other highlights include the largest trick or treat event in the city, bull riding competitions, a piñata showdown, face painting and loads more. This year’s music and entertainment lineup is bigger and better than ever, featuring some of South Africa’s best bands and DJs, including Matthew Mole, Goodluck, Rubber Duc, DJ Zinhle, Kyle Cassim, Ryan The DJ and 4AM Band.

Halloween

Johannesburg Pride 2019

  • Date: Saturday, 26 October 2019.
  • Venue: The Pride Village will be set up on Rivonia Road, between Sandton Drive and West Street, Sandton, Johannesburg.
  • Cost: FREE, but please RSVP on Facebook. Also, take some cash for merch, refreshments and parking.

Johannesburg Pride 2019 is almost here! With a new home at Sandton City, a new flag and even more after-party fun, this year’s edition is going to be better than ever. Get started on your Pride outfits and practise your parade strut, because it’s time to celebrate your authentic self. This year, Johannesburg Pride is all about celebrating The Pride of Africa. The Haunted Forest

Looking for some spooky fun for the whole family? Then be sure to get your tickets to Picnic In The Park’s The Haunted Forest, heading to Riversands Farm Village later this October. Arrive in your most terrifying and ghoulish outfit and make the most of the spookiest time of the year. It’s a fun experience for the whole family (except during the evening), don’t miss out.

Johannesburg International Flower Show

  • Date: Wednesday, 30 October 2019 to Sunday, 03 November 2019.
  • Venue: Waterfall City, Mall of Africa, Midrand, Johannesburg.

Spring has sprung, which only means one thing – flowers, everywhere! And with that in mind, be sure not to miss out on the Johannesburg International Flower Show, which will be showcasing all of the little beauties of spring in all their splendor. This event will be celebrating the design and innovation of the country’s leading landscapers, designers and gardeners. There will be some extraordinary gardens to see, including the Showcase Gardens, Artisan Gardens and creative themed Food & Drink Gardens, all designed by South Africa’s leading landscape designers as well as some incredible up-and-coming talent.

The Glenshiel Christmas Fair

  • Date: Thursday, 31 October 2019 to Sunday, 03 November 2019.
  • Venue: Glenshiel, 19 Woolston Road, Westcliff, Johannesburg.
  • Cost: Tickets cost between R75 – R250 per person.

Each year, various small business owners set up stalls in the beautiful surroundings of Glenshiel to showcase their beautifully crafted products at The Glenshiel Christmas Fair. This is not your ‘everyday’ market. Expect luxury items such as beautifully crafted bags; shoes and belts; gorgeous linens and jewellery; bespoke stationery and handcrafted Christmas decorations; stunning imported toiletries and cosmetics; delicious cakes, cookies and crackers; as well as the latest fashion must-haves for ladies, men and children. Christmas shopping just got a whole lot more exciting.
