Craving some delicious ramen to warm you up on a chilly Joburg day? Well, we have just the thing for you! A list of Joburg’s best ramen hotspots throughout the city! If you love ramen as much as we do, then these are some of the best spots to get your fill. Flavourful, moreish, and something that’ll definitely warm you up from the inside out.
Obento Ramen Bar
For the ultimate ramen experience in Joburg, traditional and full of flavour, Obento Ramen Bar is the place to be. The menu is full of flavourful and moreish ramen dishes that are sure to have you coming back for more. You have a choice from six ramen bowls; namely Tonkotsu, Shoyu, Miso, Taiwan Beef, TanTanMen and Charsiu Wonton, each with their own unique flavours. Also, you can include some add-ons from the menu to make this bowl of goodness even better.
Banchan Korean Eatery
Another must-visit is Banchan Korean Eatery in Parkmore, Sandton. You’ll definitely as if you have been teleported straight out of Joburg, to a lovely Korean destination. Their cuisine is definitely moreish. Our favourite ramen dish is the RamYun – Ramyun noodles served in a spicy mushroom based broth. And to add to the flavour, you can add a couple more toppings to make it extra hearty and yummy. This includes toppings such as cheese, egg, kimchi, and pork belly.
PRON
If you’re ever in Linden and the ramen craving hits, PRON – AKA Peoples Republic of Noodles – will certainly have the thing to sort you out. PRON has become a popular hotspot for ramen dishes that’s sure to delight your taste buds. Especially with this rainy and chillier weather we’ve been having lately, we love the Rainy Day Spicy Noodles – spicy enough to warm us up and perfect for a rainy day, as the name suggests!
Wok ‘n Roll
One of our newer favourites located in Sandton, Wok ‘n Roll offers a wide range of delicious dishes! From classic sushi and signature rolls, to pot stickers and bao, there’s something for every palate. But we are here for the ramen! Take your pick from their Teriyaki Chicken; Spicy Beef; and Cha Siu Pork. All of which are delicious, might we add. You’ll have to visit them a couple of times to indulge in each one and to pick your favourite.
Yamato
For fresh and authentic Japanese cuisine, the original favourite, Yamato, is a must. Not only do they serve some of the best sushi in the city, but their ramen is also tasty, flavourful, and something you’ll want to come back for over and over again. We love their Cha-Shu Ramen – homemade egg noodle with six pieces of sliced pork; and the Tempura Udon – warm broth topped with two pieces prawn tempura.
