Greensleeves Medieval Kingdom

If you'd like to experience the bygone era of knights, damsels in distress, Barons and Medieval feasting, then be sure you make a booking and visit the Greensleeves Medieval Kingdom in Sterkfontein. This restaurant offers guests an exciting and unique dining experience, which includes a delicious five-course meal with lively and bawdy fun, plenty of loud singing, and of course audience participation with the Baron and his Troubadours. The Upside-Down House

So, this one is a little bit of a drive, but we promise it is well worth the visit! Out in Broederstroom, you'll definitely find some strange and unusual – an Upside-Down House. It's quite literally, a house, that is upside down, with it's foundation in the air and the roof on the ground. And as soon as you walk into this strange house, you'll notice all the furniture inside, is now above your head! This is great spot if you're looking to take unique pictures and just experience what the world would be like if it was turned upside down. It is truly something you need to explore and experience at least once if you're out in Hartbeespoort Dam. Also, there is onsite entertainment for the kids as well as a restaurant/café selling takeaways.

The Donkey Dairy

Looking for a wonderful, inexpensive, family-friendly day trip less than two hours outside of Joburg? The Donkey Dairy in Magaliesburg is a working farm that offers visitors tranquil settings and interaction with some of the world's rarest (and most adorable) farm animals, including dwarf goats, miniature pigs, miniature rabbits, miniature cattle, miniature horses, silky chickens, Suri alpacasand not to forget the stars of the farm, miniature spotted donkeys. The farm is accessible by appointment only, so do be sure to book before you turn up at their gates. Any hatchback or sedan vehicle will be able to reach the property, but avoid driving a very low suspension car.

Sterkfontein Caves

Lindfield Victorian House Museum

Interesting in seeing what it was like living in the Victorian era? Then be sure to visit the Lindfield Victorian House Museum in Auckland Park, Johannesburg. Here at this living museum, you'll literally teleport back in time from the moment you step into its atmosphere, and experience all of its decor, furnishings and setup, preserved as it would have been in the Victorian era. Collectors Treasury

Are you a bookworm and enjoy finding and reading unique,old and interesting books? Then be sure to visit Collectors Treasury in the Joburg CBD. This eight-story building in the heart of Jozi is absolutely crammed with well over a million items, and is the largest shop selling rare and used books in Africa. Other than an extensive collection of books, they also have old maps, engravings and prints, printed ephemera, periodicals, newspapers and photographica. They also stock records, with over 300 000 vinyl and 78rpm discs. And last but certainly not least, there's also an extensive range of small antiques and collectables, with strong emphasis on the decorative arts between 1870 – 1970. Taking a wander through this spot, packed to the gills with interesting items and history is a must!
