We checked in with some of our favourite SA artists to see what they've been up to now that the world is opening up again.
Francois van Coke is working on a fourth solo album, it will be out in September 2022. His band Van Coke Cartel launched Van Coke's Coffee at the end of last year.
Jack Parow is releasing a new single on the 22nd of every month for 12 months, leading up to the release of his new full-length album, Die Evangelie van Goeie Tye (The Gospel of Good Times) in 2023.

David Scott (The Kiffness) has recently become a father and played a concert in Namibia in late March 2022. Also in March, The Kiffness’ YouTube channel was the #1 ranked musician/band channel in South Africa, and 15th overall. Scott has supported Ukraine during its invasion by remixing the Ukrainian folk song "Oy U Luzi Chervona Kalyna", with the royalties from the video donated to humanitarian aid for the Armed Forces of Ukraine.
Just Jinger recently played a gig in Cape Town. Lead singer, Ard Matthews, performs a gig at the Seaweed Music Festival in KwaZulu-Natal in April 2022. Drummer Brent Harris performs with Thee Jam for corporate entertainment purposes.
Goldfish tours internationally, having recently performed at Lollapalooza Chile, and have announced upcoming dates in Aspen, Miami, Vancouver Island and San Diego.

Owl from Qkumba Zoo reports that the band still does the occasional release and uses blockchain and Patreon for commercial reasons.
Steve Newman of Tananas fame performed a concert on YouTube in March 2022 with digital deals for virtual attendees.
Cito from WONDERboom is focused on the next two Blvd Hvnny singles and their respective music videos, new WONDERboom music, as well as future performances for his other projects.
Wendy Oldfield lives in the Wilderness area and released her album Salt in 2021. She still performs and collaborates with other musicians.
Karen Zoid is actively on tour, performing at @kknkfees, @diekoelkamers, @thedaisyjonesbar_omg, @reedvalleyestate and @franschhoekcellar in April 2022.

Mynie Grové is adjusting to the “lockdown aftermath” and continues to work as a publisher, producer, music business activist, business developer, mentor and life coach.
Jennifer Ferguson is still a singer, activist, composer, voice therapist, sound healer and writer, and splits her time between South Africa and Sweden.
Koos Kombuis lives in Cape Town and has recently performed at café Roux in Noordhoek and Cafe Barcelona in Pretoria, among other places. He also produces visual art.
Freshly Ground: Post-band, Zolani Mahola and Simon launched a post-trauma website. In 2019, Zolani, under the stage name The One Who Sings, launched her solo career as a musician, storyteller and public speaker and continues to do so. She performed at the Reforest Fest in early April 2022 in the Overberg.

Claire Johnston of Mango Groove continues to tour with an upcoming date at the Splashy Fen festival. The band recently performed a gig at the Music In the Forest festival at the Casalinga Restaurant.
