POSTPONED: Karin Preller – Almost No Memory

Looking for a little art and culture out in the city? Don’t miss the opening of this new exhibition by Karin Preller.

What Is It?

The Lizamore and Associates Gallery in Parkhurst presents Karin Preller’s latest exhibition ‘Almost no memory’ this March.

In ‘Almost no memory’, Karin Preller engages her personal archive of photographs, in paintings that are as much about memory as the condition of forgetting/the erasure of memory. The exhibition reflects Preller’s continued interest in personal photographic archives, made public in paintings refracted through the prism of the past and the camera’s lens.

In her new works, more so than in previous work, the ephemerality of memory is made visible by her handling of paint; by figures that merge with the background, by the erasure of details that echo the erasure of memory. The title of the exhibition, ‘Almost no memory’, implies something of the elusiveness of memory and the spectral, haunting nature of the photograph.

Don’t miss this exhibition!
