With tickets going on sale at the time of writing, the Shell Helix Ultra Cup is sure to be a crowd-pleaser of note. 

On Monday, 28 May Stadium Management SA (SMSA) announced a new annual pre-season fixture on the domestic football calendar. The Shell Helix Ultra Cup will see South Africa’s top teams go head-to-head for bragging rights at the Shell Helix Ultra Cup. The event Rights Holders are Stadium Management South Africa while the fixture itself will be sponsored by Shell Downstream SA.

The three-year agreement will have the possibility for extension by the title sponsor, while broadcast rights have been picked up by SABC and associate sponsorships signed with Vodacom View+. In addition, Gauteng Provincial Government will assist with logistical arrangements as the host province. The first fixture will see Kaizer Chiefs take on current League Champions Mamelodi Sundowns at FNB Stadium on 21 July 2018. The Shell Helix Ultra Cup is set to be action packed and what local soccer fans have been waiting for.

Shell is proud to provide a platform through the Shell Helix Ultra Cup, which brings a new prestigious fixture to the annual soccer calendar.

Speaking at the launch of the Shell Helix Ultra Cup, CEO of SMSA, Dr. Jacques Grobbelaar said, “The concept to create a new annual fixture is not only an exciting idea, it also offers soccer fans another opportunity to see the best talent in South Africa on the FNB Stadium pitch, battling for the bragging rights to lift this trophy. For the first iteration of this fixture we have partnered with the Shell Helix Ultra team, as leaders in their industry, and we are aiming to bring an “Ultra” experience to the soccer fans who love these teams”.

Tickets can be bought from Computicket stores or at any Shoprite, Checkers, Checkers Hyper, House and Home, selected OK Furniture and Usave stores. Spectators are urged to purchase their match and parking tickets together to avoid match day traffic congestion. Tickets will not be sold at FNB Stadium on match-day, and un-ticketed members of the public are warned not to come to the stadium precinct.

The match will take place on Saturday, 21 July 2018 at 15:00 and ticket prices start at R70 per person.
