What Is It?
The first annual Human Rights Music Festival is set to take place at Abrahamsrust Resort in Sasolburg, Free State on the 30th of March 2019. The event organised by One Big Entertainment, pays homage to the Sharpeville Massacre, which claimed the lives of peaceful protestors who took to the streets to boycott the Pass Law in 1960.
The festival aims to highlight the current Human Right Issues faced by the South African community, such as inequality, transformation, gender violence, lack of access to education and service delivery among others. The star-studded line up has been meticulously compiled to include artists who are ambassadors and activists in their communities. Through music, the audience will be treated to a wealth of education about our Countries history to where we are today.
Artist line up includes the likes of Legendary Jazz Musician Sipho ‘Hotstix’ Mabuse, Thebe, Mafikizolo, Cassper Nyovest, Amanda Black, Prince Kaybee, Busiswa, Dladla Mshunqisi, Mlindo the Vocalist, Teboho Moloi and many more.
