Chopping Boards

Toss a good amount of kosher salt on your chopping board and scrub it with half a lemon. Yes, it’s that simple and, if you have some tequila at hand, you can do shots!

Grout

Mix hydrogen peroxide and baking soda into a paste. Apply to a toothbrush and scrub the grout clean. This will bust mildew square in the jaw. Just be sure to wear gloves and work in a well-ventilated area. We warned you.

Cupboards

By mixing vegetable oil and baking soda you can create a paste to scrub the grime off kitchen cupboards. Once done, buff with kitchen towels. Shiny, aren’t they?

Porcelain

Soak a non-abrasive sponge in ammonia and use it to restore porcelain to its original glory. Another trick is to soak a non-abrasive sponge in vodka, yes, vodka, and use it to buff your ceramics. Make sure you have enough vodka left to make cosmopolitans. Clean porcelain should be celebrated, you know.

Brass & Copper

Here’s a nifty little trick. Go dig in your fridge for that big bottle of tomato sauce you don’t use because “it’s not All Gold”. Place your coins, jewellery or ornaments in a bowl or any other container and cover with tomato sauce. Leave the mess for about 15 minutes and rinse. Buff with Brasso afterwards to really make all the items pop.
