The annual gaming and tech exhibition, rAge Expo, is back, only this time, things are a little different. For the 18th edition, they’ll be going digital! So, claim your free ticket and enjoy three days jam-packed with epic gaming thrills, computer fun, the latest tech and plenty of geek culture, all in one place, in the comfort of your own home.

Joburg Fun

Joburg Indian Diwali Festival

Diwali is fast approaching, and to celebrate, join 27 Boxes in Melville and enjoy a day filled with lots of fun activities while experiencing Indian culture. There will be live Indian dancing and music on the decks, a wide variety of Indian cuisine and stalls offering plenty treats and delights, a children’s play area and much more. Also, visitors will have free parking during the festivities.

Ever wondered what the Joburg Zoo is like at night? Well, this is your opportunity! Once the sun sets, a new day starts for all the nocturnal inhabitants of the Joburg Zoo. Join the zoo for a night of exploring the many different enclosures and enjoying a self-packed picnic under the night sky.

The Launch of The Festival of Lights at Joburg Zoo

  • Date: From Sunday, 22 November 2020 from 19:00 to 22:00
  • Venue: Joburg Zoo, Jan Smuts Avenue, Parkview, Johannesburg.

Joburg Theatre in association with the City of Johannesburg are thrilled to present the second annual Festival of Lights showcasing an enchanting collection of illuminated life-size animal characters along with classical, harmonious entertainment, delicious food and a lovely craft night market at the Joburg Zoo. Open daily except on Mondays, visitors can enjoy a tranquil walk in the zoo on a beautifully lit route under trees decorated in enchanting lights. The Festival of Lights offers patrons entertainment and a night out in the zoo for all ages.

Field Market at Ferndale on Republic

For a lovely start to your Saturday, head to Ferndale on Republic in Randburg for the pop-up Field Market! Market-goers will be able to explore and stroll through curated stalls selling local and handmade goodies, indulge in tasty treats from various deli, gourmet food and beverage stalls, and enjoy live music performed throughout the day. Don’t forget to practice social distancing, no mask = no entry to the pop-up market.

One Plan Muddy Puppy at Walkhaven Dog Park

Why not treat you four-legged bestie to a fun day out at Walkhaven Dog Park? Run, walk, crawl, climb and bark your way through this fun 2.4km muddy obstacle, which is perfect for you and your energetic pooch! Muddy Puppy have selected Boksburg SPCA as their ‘chosen’ charity who’ll receive the proceeds from this event!

Irene Village Market

  • Date: Every first and last Saturday of the month from 08:00 to 13:30

The Festive Fijnwyn Food & Wine Festival

Park Acoustics & Pringles presents Jeremy Loops, The World Of Birds & Friends

Round off your weekend on a high note with the next installment of Park Acoustics! This edition, they welcome back Jeremy Loops, along with Cape Town friends, The World Of Birds, who are launching their brand-new EP, Before The Sun Comes Up. Also enjoy performances by Jozi bluesman, Jacques Moolman; acoustic wonderboy, Werner Bekker; Pretoria’s party starters, David & Goliath; and SA’s funniest MC, King Nqoba.
