It's almost time for one of the biggest and most delicious food and music festivals to hit Joburg! The DStv Delicious International Food & Music Festival is almost here, and if you're still trying to decide whether you should get tickets or not, here's five reasons why you should.

It says it all in the name of this exciting and oh-so delicious event. There will be PLENTY of food for you to sample, savour and devour! Stop by the Delicious Mile - the festival’s Gourmet Street-Food Market - and tuck into a whole selection of tasty eats that'll certainly delight your taste buds. And this year, foodies can expect an even bigger and scrumptious gastronomical experience. While getting your hands on some delectable nibbles, don't forget to visit the Coca-Cola Taste of the City complete with 10 pop-up restaurants that'll serve up their popular dishes.

There's Something For The Kids

This awesome festival isn't just for the grownups. There is also plenty of fun and excitement for the kids with their Engen Kids Zone! Other than gaining access to the festival, they'll get to enjoy loads of fun at this designated kids zone which includes age appropriate food and children’s entertainment in a safe and climate-controlled space. To make sure that they're fuelled and energised for an action-packed day ahead, they'll get a lunch pack with eats and treats to enjoy at the festival. Additional yummy food and beverages will be accessible throughout the day.

There's Also A Dance Arena

This year, the festival has a brand-new addition - the Red Bull Music Delicious Dance Arena! Red Bull Music is known for taking the extreme to new heights, showcasing only the finest of unique talent. On 21 September, Red Bull Music presents the Delicious Dance Arena with Shimza’s House, which will host eight African superstars with an array of styles including Kwaito, Hip Hop and House. The Red Bull Music Delicious Dance Arena promises to provide non-stop music that'll have you up and dancing all day long!

It's Going To Be Loads of Fun!

With an awesome lineup jam-packed with delicious food, great music and plenty of entertainment for the kids, this festival is sure to be two-days of nonstop fun! Just make sure that you grab the sunnies, hats and sunscreen. It's going to be a wonderful weekend outdoors!

  • Engen Kids Fest tickets - R295 per child aged between 3 - 13 years old.
  • General Access - R650 per person.
  • The Delicious Lounge - R1 550 per person.
  • The Ambassador Luxury Suite - R4 370 per person.
  • Decadence Luxury Lounge - R4 600 per person.
