What Can I Expect From The Tempest at The National Children’s Theatre?

NCT is thrilled that Lucy Wylde is directing The Tempest! Furthermore, if your child’s school is reading The Tempest as a set work book, then it is worth watching this play! This play is often considered his farewell to the stage, Shakespeare’s play tells the story of Prosepro, who is banished from his dukedom by his usurping brother, Antonia. Moreover, Prospero is no ordinary man, he has magical powers raises a tempest that shipwrecks his enemies on its shores.

Shakespeare’s masterpiece has both comedy and tragedy elements. Additionally, the play draws attention to the desire for revenge against the demands of love. It deals with redemption and the rediscovery of kindness. It is about transformation: from tears to laughter, from cruelty to forgiveness, from enslavement to freedom. The cost to attend the production is R130 per adult. Moroever, if you are interested in booking your school please send an email to cindy@nctheatresa.org.za.
