Orlando West Art Fair is a two day celebration of the Orlando West history, arts and heritage. Their objective is to create market access opportunities for township-based SMMEs and artists through art, music and guided museum tours of the historic landmark, the Hector Pieterson Museum.

What To Expect at the Orlando West Art Fair?

The Orlando West Art Fair is coming to the iconic Hector Pieterson Museum precinct! This Freedom Day weekend, experience the vibrance of Soweto. This two-day celebration will showcase fine arts, crafts, local fashion, food, and homeware by talented SMMEs. The lineup includes an after-hours tour with Museum at Night; an art fair, and a mini concert. It’s the perfect event to promote and celebrate local talent, heritage and culture.

Day 1:

The Orlando West Art Fair kicks off with an interesting and fun-filled Museum at Night Tour. The Hector Pieterson Museum will open its doors after dark for a rare experience. A Night at the Museum invites you to explore Soweto’s history in a whole new light—after hours, under the stars, and through a curated journey of storytelling, exhibitions, and reflection. Join them for an exclusive guided tour, interactive exhibits, and a powerful tribute to the legacy of Hector Pieterson.

Day 2:

On 26 April, the Hector Pieterson Museum turns into a living soundscape. Rhythms of Resistance brings a special lineup of DJs and music selectors to Soweto for one day only. A sonic journey through memory, culture, and the spirit of resistance. The lineup features: Bubbles the DJ, Maria McCloy, Just Themba, SoulScene, Billion, HAMMATHEDUDE, Bongani GiveThanks, Osmic, and Chino Soul.
