The Nutcracker at Roodepoort Theatre

The Youth Russian Ballet Company proudly presents The Nutcracker hosted at The Roodepoort Theatre. The festive themed ballet takes place on 10 and 11 December 2022.

This is truly a timeless and captivating performance put on by various ballet companies around the world. The ballet is 130 this year and it still has the ability to charm the heart and leave memories that last a lifetime. Set on Christmas Eve, Clara, the protagonist, is whisked away to the Kingdom of the Sweets through the Land of Snow. Will she be able to help The Nutcracker defeat the evil the Mouse King? 

As the rich storyline and score by Russian composer, Tchaikovsky, has held audiences spellbound you’ll be left in awe of their elegance and poise. The ballet features students aged from 11 and up working in harmony with professional dancers that are world renowned. Get in the holiday spirit and invite your friends and family to attend this magical performance.
