Malo and the Moon Maiden
Prepare to be enchanted by Malo and the Moon Maiden, a heart-warming cirque-theatre production that weaves a magical tale of love, longing, and hope. What To Expect at Malo and...
The Great Train Race (Heidelberg) is taking place on Saturday, 28 September 2024 at Heidelberg Airfield (Gauteng) in honour of the magnificent 1930s Bentley vs Le Train Bleu Race.
You’ll be amazed at the fantastic display of beautifully restored trains, cars, motorcycles, and aircraft—all together, literally bringing history to life for that nostalgic and action-packed day for young and old alike.
Spectators will see an unforgettable sight of a chugging Rovos Rail steam train, while classic cars and motorcycles act as escorts on the road below and biplanes twirl about in the sky above. This year, they will have a dedicated, safely fenced-off kids’ area. Children can enjoy a ride on a miniature pukka steam train, crafts, candle dipping, and much more. Or ask mom and dad for a flip in the helicopter or a round trip in the cool high-wheeler from the turn of the last century.
Attendees will also have the opportunity to opt in for helicopter rides, enjoy amazing show-and-tell sessions and revel in the lively ambience with beautiful live music.
What you can look forward to:
• Vintage steam locomotive salute at 10:15.
• Vintage car, motorcycle and air displays.
• Demo flight helicopter rides.
• Miniature railway line for kids.
• Beer tent & Gin bar.
• Coffee bar.
• Various vintage vendor stalls.
• A chance to win one of numerous prizes by dressing in vintage clothing.
