A Winter Escape At Destination Irene
Looking for a peaceful escape this weekend? Just a short drive from Johannesburg, Irene Country Lodge, Autograph Collection® is the perfect destination for a luxurious winter getaway, romantic weekend, or...
The Stellenbosch University Choir is one of the oldest choirs in South Africa. They’re making their way North from the Western Cape for a tour of Gauteng and Mpumalanga. The popular university group will be performing at the Linder Auditorium at Wits University on Friday, 09 September.
It’s been two frustrating years (due to the pandemic) since the choir has been able to tour the country. The choir is made up of students from different academic and cultural backgrounds and many audience members have dubbed them for being ‘intoxicating energy during performances.’
They’ve been ranked number one on the Interkultur World Ranking List of the top 1 000 choirs worldwide since 2012. Wondering what they will be preforming? You’ll hear popular South African hits such as ‘Pata Pata‘ and ‘Weeping‘ as well as iconic Lady Gaga and U2 songs. But it’s their spirituals and hymns that resonate with crowds with titles such as ‘He’s Got the Whole World in His Hands‘ and ‘Elijah.’
Tickets cost R200 per person.
