A timeless fairytale of love triumphant, “The Sleeping Beauty” returns to the Johannesburg stage from 28 June to 7 July in a dazzling production by Joburg Ballet.
What Can I Expect From Sleeping Beauty at Joburg Theatre?
Enchanted by an evil spell, a Princess pricks her finger and falls into a deep sleep, only to be awakened one hundred years later by a Prince’s kiss. Accompanied by Tchaikovsky’s sweepingly romantic music, performed live by the Johannesburg Philharmonic Orchestra, “The Sleeping Beauty” is a magnificent showcase for Joburg Ballet’s acclaimed dancers.
This season, they will be joined by distinguished guest artists. Joburg Ballet acknowledges the support for “The Sleeping Beauty” from The Michel Tesson Trust and the Institut Français.
