September Halaal Goods Market

September 30, 2023 @ 10:00 am October 1, 2023 @ 7:30 pm

If you think halaal food – food that is permissible for Muslims to consume – is just about samoosas, bobotie and biryani, then think again! The upcoming HalaalGoods Market (HGM) will change the way that South Africans view halaal food. The event takes place on Saturday, 30 September and 1 October 2023.

What Can I Expect From The September Halaal Goods Market?

Indulge in a tantalising array of culinary delights, from delectable bao buns, Korean wings, and mouthwatering smashburgers to a sweet finale of fried ice cream, baklava, and delicate French macarons. South Africa’s inaugural artisanal halaal food and design market redefines the way we experience and appreciate food and goods, all with a modern, innovative, and distinctly South African flair.

Beyond the delectable offerings, the market boasts a curated selection of locally crafted clothing, creative kids’ play areas, and even a side-splitting comedy show for your entertainment. According to HGM founder, Fehmida Jordaan, “HGM not only celebrates but also embodies the vibrant diversity of Muslim communities, both in South Africa and across the globe.

Tickets purchased online cost R20 while tickets at the door will be on sale for R30 per person.
